know god?

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
what is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?"
Psalms 8:3&4

Asked if they believe in God, poll after poll demonstrates that the response of the average person is an affirmative yes.  If you were asked the same question, you too would probably answer yes.  But are you known by God?

The difference lies in understanding the truth found in the Bible as it speaks of salvation for all mankind.  Knowing where you are going to spend eternity starts in acknowledging where you currently are.  Do you sin?  Do you see yourself as a sinner?

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us
. I John 1:8

Even the kindest, sweetest, moral, charitable person is in need of a Savior, as works donít provide the payment for the sins that make up the fabric of our daily lives.  If works did then Jesus Christ did not need to go to the cross.
But He did and went on to conquer death when He resurrected from the tomb three days later.  So in Jesus Christ, not only is sin forgiven and eternal life granted, we also have Him as an advocate for every temptation, test and turmoil that any given day sends our way.

"that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."  Acts 4:10-12

So now you have a decision to make.  You can either continue in the status quo of frustration caused by your offenses against God being unresolved, or you can pray a simple prayer in which you acknowledge your sins, ask Jesus Christ to be your personal Savior, accept His gift of Grace, and begin a walk with the Lord.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  I John 1:9

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  Romans 10:9&10

A walk with the Lord is where you will find daily strength to experience both great victory and great peace.  It is our hope that you would come to one of the Bible studies at Calvary Chapel Cedar City and seek Jesus Christ through a deeper experience than you ever have before.
